Memory keeping
Darfur Cookbook
This cookbook documents how food and cooking changed through drought, war, and displacement. It looks at what people cooked before, what became impossible to make, and how recipes were adapted over time.

At its core, this project is about three things:
Teaching
We share recipes, techniques, and ways of cooking that have been passed down across generations, even in displacement.
Recording
We document how people adapted, what was lost, and what was carried forward through different moments of crisis.
Preserving
We are preserving recipes, techniques, and stories that might otherwise be lost.
