Sanduq

In Sudan, Sandūq  صندوق means box or a pooled pot of money. Traditionally, a sanduq is money that a group of people contribute to together and then use for shared needs. It can be informal or organized, but the idea is mutual aid.

Sanduq is the community backbone of our Remittance Fund. Monthly contributions are pooled and used directly to send remittances to families in Darfur and displaced Sudanese communities who are facing urgent needs. This includes food, medical care, rent, evacuation costs, and survival expenses during displacement.

Rather than relying on one time donations or outside aid systems, the Sanduq allows people in the diaspora to sustain remittance collectively. Funds are distributed through trusted community networks and sent directly to families, prioritizing speed, dignity, and accountability to the people most affected.

By joining the Sanduq, you are helping keep remittance flowing when it is most needed.
